brake/ steering problem in my gta
ok so when im driving it sounds like one of the calipers is rubbing causing it to make a scraping noise. When your driving the car steers to the left. When you hit the brake it tries to throw the car to the right. You have to fight it to stop it without wrecking it. Any ideas on a fix?
Thanks

Re: brake/ steering problem in my gta
oh i forgot to mention that the brake light is on in the dash. My teacher at my tech school thinks that the front right caliper is the one that is stuck, and its steering left when driving because the brakes threw the alignment way off. We're gonna take it apart tomorrow and do the alignment and all that fun stuff. my next problem is the pads are brand new but the brake pedal is going pretty much to the floor.

Replace both front brake hoses and both front calipers while you're at it. Read over this:

Re: brake/ steering problem in my gta
well we took everything apart and found some interesting things. My rear calipers where pretty much demolished. The pistons don't move, the bolts were broke on both sides, and the only thing holding them on the car was rust. The front left caliper is fine, but the front right caliper grabs about 20 times harder than the left. It wasnt even giving the left one a chance to grab the rotor. That explains why the pedal goes to the floor and it shoots to the right when you hit the brakes, and it also explains why my e-brake does nothing. Fun week ahead of me.
