using a disc brake proportioning valve on rear drum brakes?

the 91 drum rear proportioning valve has a brake line in the wrong place and I am not sure I can bend my original line to get to it. basically my 84 proportioning valve has a line coming out the front and this same line needs to go to the bottom on the 91 proportioning valve. Or could I simply replace the disc proportioning valves spring with the 91 drums spring. Or will the drums work fine with the disc proportioning valve..

need a quik answer on this.

This is how its always been. Since 84 all the stock prop valves are the same for the drum cars and all the prop valves for the disc cars are the same (minus 1LE).

You can bend the stock line to screw into the prop valve. It uses the same fitting/threads and everything. All that needs to change is the bending of the rear brake line.
