LS1 Rear Brake Line Nightmare

To make a long story short, I forgot to unbolt the brake line when I was replacing my fuel pump. Needless to say the line broke at the T. I had a Russel ss line for a 3rd gen mating to a 4th gen LS1 rear.

I thought I would save some money and keep the ss line and found a member that was just selling the center rear from earl. I get that line, see that the t block was different that the Russell. I tighten it as much as it would go, then got brake fluid all over the floor when it leaked.

I broke down and bought a 4th gen Russel kit so I would get the rear outers, and have the motivation now to go to 4th gen front brakes since I got the lines... or I could sell them to recoup the 100+ I spent.

I do not know if I cross threaded the lines or not, but both the earl and new russell will not thread. The old 3rd gen russell still treats on.

I pulled the hard lines completely and found out that they are double flared on the outside and bubble flare on the inside. (Also got to do a bunch of research on the different types of flares )

What's the cheapest, quick fix?

Can I get the correct threaded end and just cut and re-bubble-flare the hard line?

Does Autozone/Advanced sell dual flared lines?

Would like to have rear brakes again! Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

Buy prebent lines for your third gen and build around those. AZ will have straight lines and after you mess with them they won't look right and the bends will look like crap. The correct rear lines are around $30 and will have the correct fittings for you. Then use 3rd gen lines on the end as well and all will bolt right on.

My $.02 ..

So the axle hard line to caliper flex hose uses the same fittings between the 3rd and 4th gen's? Just confirming since I'm getting ready to make this swap myself on a 1992 RS.

At the calipers only, not at the "T" block which is where his issues are. Got a 3rd gen car, use 3rd gen lines. Any questions LMK.
