ok what the diff??

i have 4 wheels disk brakes right,my car dont have much stopping power so i though i would buy some new caibers and see if that helps.so i went to autozone website and this is what gets me

(front calibers)

this one im pretty sure what i have on the car now,but it said with rear drum brakes..but i have disk
http://www.autozone.com/R,APP934690/...ductDetail.htm

and this front brake caliber is for rear disk

http://www.autozone.com/R,APP935164/...ductDetail.htm

what would be the diff between the two, cause im thinkin this would be the problem for my slack of braking power...

Re: ok what the diff??

You could somehow have both, the first on the front and the second on the rear (though the one in the pic is a front). Have your verififed that's exactly what you have (I ask because the alum PBR's are seen on 89-92 rears).

10.5" rotors with Delco Moraine iron calipers. You're stuck with them unless you are prepared to do some modifications.

Cut the ears off the spindles and drill and tap two dust-shield bolt holes. Not a difficult operation. Some members have done the mod on car. Here's a link that will provide an idea of how the spindle looks and what parts you'll need. Spohn sells a kit, by the way.

Re: ok what the diff??

i been looking at these slotted/drilled rotors on ebay...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Chevr...spagenameZWD1V

i read alot about them on here almost 2hr of studing.lots say they crack easy under heavy braking and others say they would recommended it..reason im looking at slotted rotors is because i have real bad pad fade...

dont want to spend $800 to $2000 on a brake kit if i had the extra cash then yeah i will.i just what something that will stop me, cause right now i have to hope that no one will pull out in front of me or will i stop in time at a stop light .

Re: ok what the diff??

for the price sure but you get what you pay for. with that said who is going to give you a lifetime warranty on the and how? i have lifetime warranty on my brake parts they were all bought at smyth automotive when it brakes i take it there and the replace it. rotors from jegs are like $80 each i think i paid about the same for my bremo's at smyth. just my opinion go with a decent company the makes reliable parts

Only one review, but it makes you think twice. By the way, that's "limited" lifetime.

Re: ok what the diff??

For the time being, perhaps you should consider new OE rotors, loaded calipers, and brake lines (front and rear if your wallet is that deep). Might surprise you.

Re: ok what the diff??

i have i replace the MC,rotors,F calipers,F lines...and still i have very bad pad fade.the brakes are fine on first braking after that just hope that u will stop in time...

the back brakes work good i guess, well it will hold the car on a hill when i pull the E-brake...

any ideals i mean my car needs a mass air flow sensor, tires but i dont care for those right now i want to stop.....
