Strange 12 bolt with Iroc disc?

I am in the process of purchasing a Strange 12 bolt that was set up for fourth gen disc. I have a 87 Iroc with a 10 bolt that has factory rear disc. I run 15x8 drag lites on the rear and the wheel clears my caliper with out any spacers or grinding the caliper. My question is has any body used these brakes on an aftermarket rear end? What is the difference in the 3rd gen backing plate and the fourth gen one? I don't want to have to buy a fourth gen disc set up to grind the calipers so my wheels will fit. I definitely don't want to swap to drums. I am a machinist so I can fab up some thing to make my 3rd gen brakes work kinda like Ed does but was wondering if any body had run in to the same problem.

the offset of them is different. Buy the LT1 rear disc setup and just grind down the cooling fins and you will be fine, that is how I am running rear disc on the cheap.

Thanks. I went buy my local parts store and they gave me a pretty god deal I think 2 rotors,2 calipers, and a set of pads for $120 all fourth gen. Now I get to take the brand new calipers and grind on them.

I have 15 inch wheels so it was either buy brakes or new wheels. I didnt want to do either I wanted to run my IROC brakes so I didnt have to grind or switch wheels. But breaks was the cheapist way out for me. What kinda 60' times you pulling with those 16's
