LS1 Rear Brakes

Hey guys, I havnt posted much on this site but ive been a mamber for a while. I usually just find what i need by searching. Ive had my 91 RS for about 8 years now and im finally getting around to doing some work to it.

I had a friend give me a perfect 10 bolt out of a 01 M6 Z28. its a 3 channel rear with 3.42 complete with all the brakes. Right now I have a 2.73 drum brake rear in the car. I dont want to swap the entire rear end due to the wheels sticking out further. I plan o rebuilding the rear and putting the posi and 3.42's in.

My question is, will the backing plates for the LS1 brakes bolt up to the factory drum brake housing without any modification? Thanks a lot.

Re: LS1 Rear Brakes

no. you will have to some simple stuff like cutting off the top part of the axel flange on both sides and drilling 4 holes. 10-20 mins of work
