YAAAAAARRRRR!!!! Caliper brackets mounted wrong!

I didnt realize my ford 9 axles were different lengths. WTF. I got the brackets mounted backwards. I guess this is supposed to common knowledge???? Nowhere in the instructions from moser does it say they are different lengths.

Now I'm stuck with the brackets facing forward, which is wrong and pisses me off, but I'd deal with it instead of pressing the bearings off, ruining them, buying new ones, pressing them on, yadda yadda ya. But will the brake line reach the caliper if its mounted frontward? Im guessing I could reroute the hard line to the front, and mount the bracket eslewhere to reach.....

Feels like #@$#@%# rigging.

Re: YAAAAAARRRRR!!!! Caliper brackets mounted wrong!

the caliper is supposed to be to the front, the parking brake pull hook on the bottom. I assume you have the parking brake hook on the top? that sucks. I just getting ready to have my bearings pressed on, tomorrow hopefully and even though i know i have them right im still paranoid of doing the exact same thing

there is a nice write up on exotic performance website on the ford 9" installation that xpndbl3 made

http://www.exoticperformanceplus.com....html?item=145

the passenger side axle is the longer one

bleeding the calipers upside down wont be fun

Wellll! The world just spun backwards or something. I have them on the front, parking brake actuator on the bottom......I could have sworn that on his homepage, I saw them mounted at the rear of the wheel.

I'm not using the parking brake, but the weight was hitting the control arm? I guess everyone just takes them off?

So I have it right. I'm glad I didnt break anything when I got mad. And I quit doing drugs weeks ago......

I have the lt1s.....oh well they're on, as long as the line reaches, I'm not worried.

They are supposed to be at the rear.....I don't think it matters much, it would suck if you had one at the front and one at the rear, lol.

Hey at least now I dont have to worry about how the calipers look!!
