brake caliper

I have a problem with front passenger brake. Its always locked in stop position, if i release the piston, it will not came back again on its place. So i guess i need a new brake caliper, along there is possible problem also in tube or brake cylinder. I got quote from part company from my country and they said if i have drum brakes in rear, i need brake caliper which is like 4x more expensive then if there is disc brakes in the rear. Is it possible or they play the game with me? I want to order parts from them, because its usually delivered faster then if i got it from USA. Im not willing to pay extra fast shipping. But on other hand, rockauto.com doesnt mention any difference in their part list.. Its stock disc brake on 91 camaro RS TBI. The car is in the shop to find out what is wrong, but i will be ordering parts. Thanks for any help, have a good one

Unless you have a 1LE (11.7" rotors with alum dual-piston calipers), the front disc brakes are identical from 82-92 whether you have discs or drums in the rear.

Re: brake caliper

when it is locked up, open the bleeder screw and see if it releases, if it does release, replace the rubber flex hose, if it does not release, replace the caliper(replacing them in pairs is recommended)

Re: brake caliper

Shop says its hydraulic hose, so im expecting one in mail for like 50 $ by Thursday. Be glad having shops with local shipping prices and 2nd day delivery. The very expensive caliper was probably the 1LE series. Thanks for help
