bigger brakes

I have and 82 recaro TA I have run into some conversion problems like installing a 700r4 . I'v read some of forms ,will the rear end from a 4th gen fit in a 3rd gen rather than goin crazy with trying to mount spacers and brackets just trying to see whats the easyist route to take.

Re: bigger brakes

Yes....4th gens rear ends are a direct fit.

If you had done a search, this has been covered 2 million times...And you would have known already without asking.

Easy man, he's a noob. We all needed a bit of slack when we started posting, myself included.

Re: bigger brakes

The new rear is wider. Do you have wheels on the parts car? They would have the right backspacing. Then your fronts (if you use the 4th Gen wheels) would probably need 2" spacers.

wtf is your problem hoss....for starters he said he researched other forums. so he has questions still, does that make it wrong? i guess when you joined you knew everything there was to know about 3rd gens? maybe you should have told him he would need new wheels or spacers before spouting off saying a 4th gen is a direct fit. yes it bolts in but your comment makes it sound like all he needs is a rear and hes good to go..did you discuss rear brakes? say he gets a ls1 rear with disks. will he have a e-brake cable? so a direct bbolt in isnt as easy as you make it sound.

No....I only said it is a direct FIT. It is.

Wheels are separate items....Brakes are something else...Drum ti disc...disc to disc...LT1 vs LS1 width....I didn't wanna write a book here. Everything has been covered SO many times,...Yes. Maybe I get a little frustrated seeing it asked weekly over the last 10+ years.

I was here before TGO even started. I help FOUND TGO (3 founders)...So yes...I've seen the same questions over & over & over....Peoples lack of searches...

Does that make me "special"? No. Just shows that I've seen it a LOT.
