Brake lights don't work

so i went out for probably the last cruise on thursday before the car gets put away for the winter, and my buddy noticed that my brake lights dont work, i checked my fuses and everything ok, then i noticed the brake light switch under the dash and there should be 2 seperate plugs that plug in to the switch that were not connected??? anyways the plug closet to the brake bracket accepts the orange and blue plug that i found under there and then there's another plug with a purple and pink w black stripe. so i plug in the first plug orange and blue and the brake lights now work. but what is the other plug for? and does it matter which way it plugs in?

thanks,
Vince

Re: Brake lights don't work

The other should be to disengage the cruise control if I'm not mistaken (if so equipped).
