Anyone able to find bubble flare fittings locally?
I had to chop off the end of my hard lines, one on the rear pass caliper (where it connects to soft line) and the T-fitting where it connects at the body to the hardlines. I'm installing braided lines, and the damn fittings stripped on me. So I've got the lines made up that I cut off, got them flared and connected to the hard lines, but now I need new fittings that will fit into the respective braided lines. IT seems that everyone I ask locally doesn't have any type of bubble flare fittings and they don't know where to find any either. Should I ask for something else? Someone told me that Home Depot sells pipe thread fittings that "might" work. Is there another name for bubble flare? All i need is one 1/4" and one 3/16" fittings and I can finally bleed the system. I haven't even looked online, I'd like to finish this this weekend. Any ideas fellas?

I found my bubble flair lines at NAPA with the fittings already attached. If worst comes to worst i guess go to a dealer. They should be able to order you some i would think.

Don't use any kind of pipe fitting on brake lines, totally different applications. You can get the fittings you need on standard length lines at Auto Zone and such, cut off the parts you need and use them on your lines. They can also lend you the flaring tool.
Look here as well:

You will just need to know the ones you need.

anyone know the fitting sizes for an LS1 master cylinder? I assume it's the same as my old 89 MC, but I still don't know the fitting sizes

well, FWIW, I bit the bullet and got some from the dealer. I was surprised actually, they still sell the fittings and lines for an LS1 master cylinder that go from the MC to the prop valve, or ABS whatever the car has. They only sell the lines as a "kit", basically meaning that you get both small lines and fittings coming off the MC. Cost me like $15, so I'm happy.

Not yet, still waiting for them to come in from MI. Should be sometime next week. When I get them in though, I'll definitely post it up.
