Brake upgrade? What car?

Okay, I have been reading and wish to upgrade brakes on my 91 RS - factory 16" rims. I have read that ls1 and c4 brakes will work on the front. What kind/year of car(s) are these off of? Basically I wan't to go to the junk yard and get the parts I need or buy a parts car and theive the parts needed.

Re: Brake upgrade? What car?

A search will provide all the info you'll ever need!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FYI:

C5 = 5th gen corvette brakes
LS1 = 4th gen F body brakes

You will need to buy modified spindles, or modify your spindles.

Check out these web sights.

The problem with the search is there is sooo much information out there it is hard to tell between the good and bad info. I am fairly **** when it comes to my f-body I only want to do things the absolute right way or not at all.
thanks for the info, Jon

Re: Brake upgrade? What car?

I think we are are a little **** about our cars, thats why the search is so great. Gives us access to so much information. Then you can weed through the info and decide what is the best or right way for yourself. The more info the better. But for real, asking what cars and what years for LS1 and C5 brakes come off of makes me think you didn't do a search at all!!!

The search is a really great tool.

Either of those kits will fit your 16" wheels and there's more out there depending on how you want to use your car, feel free to contact me and we'll work out a solution that will meet your needs.

C4s: '88-96 Corvette, both 12" and full 13" setups will fit
LS1: '98-02 F body, any car, full 12" rotor

Whichever way you go, make sure you look at all your options and see which brakes will work best for your money. Some kits will have braided lines standard whereas others will charge you more for the upgrades. Get the total price shipped for the parts you need and then decide. LMK, glad to help.
