OK. I bought a set of LS1 brakes front and rear at the yard the other week(at 50% off too!). I want to put them on my 87 IROCZ with stock rims. I have read there is no problems fitting the rims on there. But what about the offset. I know the brakes move the front rims out more. But how much? And what do you do to correct it. I just want the rims spaced evenly around the whole car. Thanks in advance for all the help! Adam :-)

 

The fronts will add .300" or so due to the thickness of the rotor hat, no change on the rears as the rotors now sit where the drums used to therefore no change.

So I guess you run the front rims(0mm offset) on the rear with no spacer(the factory spacer was for drum cars, correct?). And the rear rims(20mm offset) on the front with a .487" spacer. Which when combined with the rotor at .300". Would make the rear 20mm offset rim(which is now on the front) into a 0mm offset rim. That would make all four rims sit out even, correct? Let me know if I'm getting to technical here. Now I am off to bed cause my head hurts. lol. Adam :-)

 

Most people don't offset at all. A wider front track will give you better steering control.

 

I just like all my rims sitting out the same width. I don't like when the rims don't sit even with each other. Same resson I don't like the prostreet look. I won't even put a larger tire on the rear then the front, even if there the same width rim. I just like everything flush.
