1984 firebird brake replacement

hi, im looking to completely redo my entire brake "system" in my 1984 firebird.

i plan on replacing everything, and was not sure what all would be the best bang for the buck. i have a stock 5.0L 305 and dont need anything insane, but i want to redo it all. i am having a hard time finding alot of parts and i have the stock 15th anniversary rims on so anyways any and all help would be appreciated.

i really dont know all the parts i would need and what brands to get and which to stay away from.

this will be my first brake job, however i have a friend coming intown in about a month who is a mechanic, so he said he would be more than happy to help but i have a hard time talking to him(he is hard to reach) anyways id like to have all the parts here when he gets here so we can get right into.

thanks
-alex

How much are you looking to spend?

For replacement of the entire stock brakes, here's what you want:

For the fronts:

2 Front Calipers
2 Front rotors (Or you can have yours turned if you want, you'll have to price it out!)
1 set of front pads
2 front rubber brake lines
Some brake fluid
Inner/Outer wheel bearings, grease seal
Disc brake axle/bearing grease

For the rears:

Do you have drums or disk?

2 rear calipers
2 rear rotors
Rear pads (1 set for each side)
2 rear rubber brake lines (line to body, line to pass side caliper)

Turning the rotors is certainly an option, but I'd suggest new--everything else will be, so why not?

ok thank you very much, i was considering doing braided lines instead of rubber ones, and are there any brands i should look at over others? id rather not spend 2K on this but most things in life dont come cheap so i will if need be.
