squealing noise coming from rear wheels

I'm getting a squealing type noise coming from the rear of my 91 Camaro RS. It's a real high pitched sound that only occurs when the gas pedal is being pressed. If you take your foot off the gas and let it coast the noise goes away. Is this a normal sound or is something wrong?

Also if I turn to sharp I hear a grinding type noise. I'm pretty sure it's the tires rubbing. I think they may be bigger than what came stock on the Camaro. I just bought this today, so I don't know a whole lot about it. Will this hurt anything? Thanks.
