Hey guys, my car handles like a dream, KYB shocks, big front sway bar, big rear sway bar.. But when it comes to stopping.. I have a problem.. The pedal feels light, and the car jumps from side to side..
What I'm looking for is a $500 or less brake upgrade.. 3 piston calipers? Ceramic pads? New rotors? Ideas would be great!
My specs are..
1991 Firebird.. T-tops, auto, 3.42 Posi rear axle w/ drums, 305 TBI.

Ed Miller's kits start around $700+. I doubt you'll find anything of quality which is cheaper. New OE rotors (and perhaps calipers), pads, and lines would no doubt improve your current set-up. You might, if you haven't already, peruse Ed's site or ideas/prices:Originally Posted by Kevman

Good pads, good fluid, freshly turned rotors, an adjustable prop valve and rear a disc swap will go far in helping your braking ability. And keep the car a more balanced (read: safer) than getting big brakes in the front and keeping the drums in the rear.
I believe alot of my problems are due to the fact my car has been sitting for so long. I think a new set of calipers, flex lines, pads, and new rotors would make a hell of a difference..

Brake fluid can go bad with age you really need to rebuild your front brakes that should help a lot.
Yea, The rear brake fluid is all new, I flushed it out when I changed out my rear end (3.42 POSI). I just need some $$$$..
