LS1 front brakes on spindle?
Why not mount the caliper on the spindle? Is there any real need for the adapter? Looking at it I don't see why you couldn't just drill a couple holes in the spindle and use some spacers to get it in position. This might be a good way to get enough clearance (with 12" rotors) to fit them under 15" wheels.

For the 1LE set-up, at least, you have to drill/tap the spindle. The bridge between those two holes, however, is too far apart to mount the carrier--which is mounted to the adapter, not the caliper.

Ya, I meant the abutment bracket on the spindle. The LS1 bracket is 128mm between mounting bolts, which can be mounted on the spindle. Major concern I have is parallelism with the new bolt holes.
