Two Brake Q's

Hi Guys,

I got to questions for ya. One I barely have any brakes, two they pull to the left.

#1, I just replaced my master cylinder cause my brakes were not working and there was sludge in the reservoir. Now I have a little brake but I've got the pedal to the floor. I'm 99% sure I got 99% of the air out of the master. It was a major pain not having a vice. I bench bled it then raised the back of the car and got the master almost level and bled it again. Is there anything I should be aware of other than air elsewhere in the system? I'm not wasting time bleeding anything now because I'm gonna replace pads, rotors, wheel cylinders, maybe calipers, etc as soon as I get paid. The brake light is on but I thought that air in the system will do that. I'm 100% sure the car isn't leaking brake fluid anywhere btw.

#2 When I do get a little brake it pulls to the left. My right rotor has two cracks in it but the driver side appears to be fine. Are bad calipers or an egg shaped drum pretty much the only thing that will make the car pull?
Thanks guys
Alex

stop wasting your time asking about it and just bleed everything. And if any of your components are cracked or broken then dont drive the car until you replace them.

Re: Two Brake Q's
First bleed the brakes, starting from the furthest from the master cyl. Second the brake light is for your e-brake (unless you have ABS). All in all, when you replace the calipers i would get a set of Speed Bleeders. Also I would suggest replacing the rubber flex lines going to the calipers. They are notorious for expanding while braking. If it pulls to the left (the drivers side) then your problem is coming from the passenger side. The rubber lines will expand causing uneven brake pressure between both front calipers.

Re: Two Brake Q's
Thanks for the info. Please forgive me if I'm bothering anyone. My car wasn't taken care of so I plan on replacing all brake parts. Thanks for the heads up on the rubber lines. My haynes repair manual said that the brake light would go on if there is uneven pressure or if one half of the system stopped working. I trust you guys more than I trust it though

Re: Two Brake Q's
Your caliper is likely frozen, or not recieving pressure for some reason (like air in the system). That's why it's pulling.
