Adjustable prop valve install questions, using stock combo valve.
Several years ago I installed a willwood adjustable prop valve. I installed it while retaining the stock combo valve. I just removed the stock prop valve plunger and spring, then installed the willwood below the stock combo valve.
I've seen a bunch of info on here that may indicate this is a bad idea. Although I've been driving with it like this for years with no issues.
With the plunger and spring removed doesn't the willwood see full pressure on the high side? Which is what we want. This has no effect on front brakes, right? The stock combo valve keeps the front and back brakes separate, right?
Thanks,
John

I am about to do the same thing in a '91 Z28. Added 12 bolt & LS1 brakes. Even with LSI valve installed and also a 1LE PV installed, still not enough bias to the rear wheels. It seams obvious to take out the valve, but just checking.

Still would love to hear a definitive answer on these questions, anyone? J65 -vs- Drum. Is the only difference the plunger and the spring? Valve body identical? How do we know what is inside these valve bodies anyway? I'm assuming it is simply a tunnel for brake fluid to run thru, but do we know with out a doubt diameters and lengths of these tunnels are the same? And one other question, does the front brake have a plunger/spring system similar to rear? It looks different??

I did something similar just last week. There has been some good talk recently on the brake board about the combination valves and such. read a few of the recent posts in the brake board for some good info
here is my (untested) setup

i think it should work
