Master Cylinder Upgrade
I am currently using a stock Master Cylinder and Booster, I have seen some articles were an LS1 Master Cylinder can be used instead. My question is, What is the exact part number for this LS1 MC? I cannot seem to locate one. And is there anything else I would need for this upgrade. I have an 84 Trans am w/ 4 Wheel Disc. Any info is helpfull.

This is the one I used. I asked for one for a 2002 SS Camaro. Bolts right up to the booster. Thread sizes for the brake lines are correct. I switched back and forth between one of these (used) and stock until I bought the new one which didn't leak. I had problems with the fitting on the rear line, it wasn't long enough to seat in the port, but I forget which master cylinder had the deeper port, I flared a new fitting on the brake line to solve the problem. I also did away with the stock proportioning valve and installed an adjustable one on the rear line, the front lines are teed together directly off the master cylinder.

Re: Master Cylinder Upgrade
I recommend the 84-88 Thirdgen 4-wheel disc brake master cylinder over the LS1 MC. The 84-88 MC has a larger bores then the LS1 MC.
84-88 Thirdgen 4-wheel disc MC
~1.42" front bore, 1" rear bore
GM: 18030556
AC-delco: 18M314
98-02 forthgen F-body "LS1" MC
1" front and rear bore
GM: 18060784
AC-delco 174787
