Front caliper bolt looks like its in to far, pic included
Hey,
I just had the stock driver side front caliper off to do a wheel bearing replacement. When I put the caliper bolts back on it looks like the bottom bolt threads are in way to far. Can you take a look at these pics and tell me what you think. The two caliper bolts are the same, right?
See how far the bottom pin is sticking out compared to the top. Also it looks like its past the dirt line from when it was installed before.

Top bolt head, looks normal to me.

Looks like you're missing a sleeve that fits in the caliper before the bolt goes in. It keeps the bolt from doing just that.

Thanks Al,
It must be laying around the garage. Should there be one on both bolts?

Should be on both. If you can't find them, I still have my old calipers in the garage from my C5 front upgrade, I can pull the sleeves out of them. Shouldn't be much trouble getting them to you, I work up in Bothell and will be there late Wednesday after work.

No worries Al, I found it. It was sitting in the A arm. Good place for it huh?
Yeah, I had them off to do the bearings on that wheel. I had an intermittent groaning/squeaking from that wheel that just started. I just took it out for a drive and I think its fixed. Which is good, I didn't want to sink a lot of money into the bearing/brakes/spindles, as I'm planning a brake upgrade this fall.
