fitment ? with hawks rear disc pads

on my 91, the pads i ordered seem to not fit in the caliper correctly, but even if they did go in, it appears the outer pad is too thick, meaning that it will 'push' the rotor itself to rub on the chassis of the caliper on the inboard side. was wondering if anyone else has used these pads and has encountered any similar issues. the space where the rotor rides inside the caliper chassis is very close tolerance, not much room for any fitment problems... have to leave my old pads on for now because of this... anyone experienced this before, or am i not doing something right?
