C5 Z06 brake upgrade, PN's, prices, links

I have an Excel spread sheet with part numbers, the best prices I could find and links to the website of the vendor/source. I can't upload it because it's not a valid file format for upload. The list includes, calipers, rotors, pads, abutment brackets, bolts, flex lines, spindles, hubs, etc. Email me at anthony.lenhardt@yahoo.com if you'd like me to send it to you. It's less than $1900, not including shipping and handling charges.

1900bux? that outrageous for a c5 upgrade, even for a c6 upgrade. It is nice of you to put the spreadsheet with prices and numbers together for the people here!

It is expensive compared to other brake upgrades, that's for sure. BUT replacement pads and rotors for this conversion, ultimately, will be easier to find years down the road since the Corvette is a regular production vehicle and their popularity will keep factories pumping out replacement parts for years to come. I'm not so confident about the other expensive, exotic upgrades that are available. If that company you bought your parts from goes bust, looks like you'll be performing another brake conversion.

A 1LE conversion would be much cheaper. I'm not a brake system expert, but spending hundreds of dollars to upgrade your 60's technology to 80's technology doesn't make much sense to me. Especially since it's ALREADY difficult to find 1LE parts. Years down the road, how expensive will it be to maintain that 80's technology?

Also, this list I have put together includes probably every nut and bolt you will need.

I have about $ 475 in my C5 front brake kit, not including wheels or wheel spacers. Granted I did every bit of the labor and machining myself. New spindles or hubs not needed, but do need to be modified. Bought all Vette parts needed from www.rockauto.com . $1400 labor is just a tad high, Don't ya think? Here's my list,
Raybestos loaded calipers with pads and abutments
part# RC11142QS $131.99
RC11141QS $131.99
rotors # 56701R 30.99
56700R 30.99
2 new front hoses, stock 3rd gen #15.00
new wheel bearings & seals $40.00
adapter brackets $75.00
hose to caliper bolts GM $12.00
grand total $467.96
I think a competent machine shop could do the required work in about 3 hours. around here that would be about $200to $275. Hope I didn't step on any toes, just trying to inform, Dean

ebmiller has the C5 front kit for $950. It's a bolt on, for those of you that don't wan't to or can't do it yourself. Thats a fair price for the parts and labor required. Dean

Fronts are the same. I can't tell you about the rears. If is a third gen Camaro or Bird you want to swap to, I would consider the LS1 setup. Almost a bolt on, and you can still have a working parking brake. I don't know if anyone has this worked out on the C5 rears. Hope this helps, Dean
