E-brake Handle Slipping or not grabbing
My e-brake handle seems to slip or not grab the e-brake cable gear. is this a normal wear and tear issue or is there another issue. it has done it since my dad had the car. i am just wondering if i go and pick one up from the junkyard how long it will last. Thanks

Braking The Engagement
The Parking Brake handle is retained in the desired position VIA a ratchet mechanism in the assembly near the pivot point.
The toothed area might be worn, the engagement spring might be weak or broken, there might be a foreign object preventing engagement.
