disc brake rattle

i just replaced my brake pads with duralast gold brake pads and now there is a really bad rattle.

i think its the caliper. i can move it around about a 1/8 to 1/16 of an inch with my hands and i think this is whats causing the rattle. i re pulled the wheels and looked at the caliper and its not tight, it has play in it. i tightened the bolts on the caliper as tight as i could and its rattling pretty bad.

its a stock 91 rs 305 and im referring to the front disc brakes.

also i feel like the the brakes arent as strong as they should be which is worrying i cant really get them to lock up the wheels. and when i try to slow down from 60 to zero i put my foot all the way to the floor and it wont lock the wheels it will slow down but not like its suppose to. and they begin to smoke pretty bad also before my brakes would get hot as hell but wouldent smoke like that

they smell weird also kinda like a bbq my cousins told me that when i pulled it it smelled like i was cooking something lol

please give me some help ive never been scared to drive my car but now its concerning me. what sould i do? and what could be causing this?

Re: disc brake rattle

Go back to AZ and get a hardwarekit w/ new rubber bushings for the pins, also make sure the clip that hold the pad in the caliper piston is good or replace it. Make sure to use brake caliper lube at all contact points on the back of the pads and where they ride on the pins...

Replace the brake hoses and bleed the fronts, make sure you clean the rotors w/ brake cleaner real good...
