Brake pads

My 91 has a 10 bolt posi rear disc from an 85 Iroc. I replaced all four rotors with slotted crossdrilled and cheap pads. This is not my primary car, but want it to handle and brake well. Im replacing the rubber lines with braided hoses, and will flush the lines and add new fluid.
1. What is the best brake fluid?
2. Hawks or EBC pads? and if EBC, which kind? red, green, yellow?
3. Expeirences?

Re: Brake pads

I've heard nothing but good things from EBC brake pads. But what kind of driving does your car go through? Daily driver? road course?

Re: Brake pads

the car is driven on weekends and a few times during the week. Its more of a road course car than a strip car.

The 91 with rear discs would have had two flex lines, one to each caliper. The 85, on the other hand, would have only had one flex line, the other would have been hard. If you order lines for the 85, you should be good to go.

BTW, I'm satisfied with Hawks.

Re: Brake pads

so the braided brake lines kit for an 85 will work. i thought the 85 brake lines were diffrent than the 91. does the kit come with a braided line coming from the hardline to the rear end?
im getting ready to order the set so when im back from afghanistan i can have it there to install.

Since the fronts on your 91 are the same as they would be on an 85 (I assume you don't have a 1LE) and since you're using a rear from an 85, the kit should work fine.

They are different as explained above.

I have no idea what brand/kit you're contemplating, but generally kits come with the line you mention.
