Rear pass. e-brake leak.

Rear pass. e-brake leak.

Hey guys. Im running an 85 Z28 with the stock rear disc setup. the pass. e-brake is leaking from the main twist bolt. is there a fix for this? ive fixed it and got it to stop for about 6-8 months but it happened again. any advise would help a lot!

You can rebuild the caliper and replace the seals, or you can just replace it.

well last time i had taken the e-brake lever off and reset it because it managed to dislodge itself enough so the nut was not holding the twist bolt tight and the fluid just leaked past. i am going to try to do that again if that's the issue otherwise im wondering if theres a perminant solution

If you're working with the old iron calipers, there is a rubberized steel washer that you need. If the center stud pushes in, the internal seal leaks...the rubberized steel washer keeps the stud in place. I apply a thin film of silicon grease to the washer, keeps the e-brake arm moving freely even w/ the nut fully tightened.
