C Clip mod / drum to disc
C Clip mod / drum to disc
After looking at the rear drum to disc conversion mods, has anybody gooten rid of the C clips in their factory drum rear end after putting the disc brake setup on?
Checking around nobody makes a C clip eliminator package for the 3 bolt setup on the factory drum rear end. It looks like you will have to change housing ends to get the C clip elimantor package to work. Moser makes a housing end kit for the C clip rear ends. I will be calling Moser on Monday to see what needs to be done besides welding in the new housing ends. The Moser setup will work with factory bearings, seals and C clip axles.

Re: C Clip mod / drum to disc
After talking to Moser, it looks like the only way to get rid of the C clips in the aft end is to use the Ford 9" axle kit from Moser. It will work with the OEM disc brake setup but you need to run the Ford 9" axles with the larger bearings. Looks like the way to go to get rid of the C clips in the back axle setup of the 3rd gen guys. Here is a link to Moser's page with the kit.
