97 Z28 front brakes on 89 RS?
Hey guys, I found the whole front brake assembly at the local jy off a 97 Z28. Will the disc brake set-up fit on my 89 RS? I have 15" front wheels, and what would I need to do to make it work? If it can be done, I'll prolly pick them up tomorrow. Thanks!

No...
Takes some doing but it can be made to though.
Basically the same process as the 1LE, LS1, or Cx conversion.
Not sure if it will fit inside 15" wheels. After all, the rotor is larger, and the caliper still has to go around the outside of that, and then the INSIDE of the wheel has to go over all THAT. I'd have my doubts, without hacking on the caliper (which, since I'm not ready to start pushing up daisies just yet, or causing anyone else to do so, is NOT AN OPTION in my opinion); but I could be wrong.

Most members prefer the 1LE (89-92) or LS1 (98+) or the various Corvette systems--bypassing the LT1 (93-97) altogether as this latter still has single-piston calipers and small rotors (10.9 vs your current 10.5). Ed Miller doesn't even offer them as an upgrade.

Right; alot of the people with LT1 cars, find those inadequate, and put on LS1 or Cx ones as an upgrade. Which is why you can pick em up cheeeep at the buzzard; nobody wants em, they're just going to the crusher anyway. Let em go, and get something better if you're going to do all that work and spend all that money. The parts you get at the junkyard are the cheeeeep and eeeeeezie part of the upgrade, anyway; if you go through all the effort and expense, you might as well make the largest impact possible. IOW, if the mazes are all pretty much equal, choose the one with the most cheese at the end.
