Anyone know why Ed switched to 1/2" -20 studs on his hubs?

Engine: Modded , stock, LSX modded
Transmission: 700r4, 700r4, t-56
Axle/Gears: 327, 308, 373
Anyone know why Ed switched to 1/2" -20 studs on his hubs?
Wasn't DORMAN Part # 610323 being installed before? why the change?

1/2-20 are stronger than stock third gen studs. that is all i know

the pressed in studs cracks the hubs it happened to the ones he sent me , the 1/2 20 studs are screw in so no cracks
