Brake problem 84 Firebird S/E

The brake indicator light is on, there does not seem there is too much that can cause it the Special Edition in 1984 has 4 wheel disk brakes that seem to be working fine, the factory installed booster is still installed the master I believe was replaces several years ago I do not know if the calipers have ever been replaced, I only see one sensor next to the master. any ideas as to where I should start???

The light usually indicates a failure (leak) in the system. I'd do a visual.

I forgot to mention the light is on all the tlme not just when the brake is applied, I may check the sending unit next to the master, it may be bad.

Sounds like the pressure differential switch which is a part of the combination valve? If so, it's alerting you to a leak in one of the brake circuits. You might check the fluid level in the master. Or it might be something as simple as the brake light switch which is located above the brake pedal.
