Best brake kit for road racing
I am slowly building a road race car - 89 camaro RS with Lt1/T56 for CMC2 NASA class and am wondering what you guys think would be the best brake setup to run? From everyones reviews i'd like to order from flynebye (Ed) for the ease of getting everything as one kit. Any ideas/suggestions?
edit - here are restrictions:
- cast iron rotors vented only - no slotted or cross drilled
- max front rotor 13.1" dia and 1.31" thickness max
- 12" dia with 1.25" thickness max allowed
- i can use any front caliper single line aluminum bodied with 4 or fewer pistons readily available to public from retail source for under $600. modifications to spindles allowed for caliper mount.
- rear can use any front caliper updated/backdated of same manufacturer/model

what wheel diameter are you limited to? thats important too.
you can do quite well with c5/c6 front brakes, parts are cheap and easy to get, but need 17" and larger wheels.

17" wheels are allowed for cmc2 so i should be good! this is all part of a planning process for budgeting so if something new/better shows up down the road i may switch over but for pricing purposes this should be good.
