BBF means I should prob upgrade my brakes lol
Just swapped in a 521cuin BBF into my bird. The engine shouldnt weight more than a fully dressed iron SBC since i have aluminum heads, intake and waterpump. But im not sure if my brakes are going to be up to the task of slowing it down. With about 550-600hp and more tq on tap NA, plus a 150 shot for the track.
My 383 HSR was fine with my current brake setup but unsure with more than 100-300hp over my 383.
My current front brakes are stock size but with summit extreme slotted/diamond drilled rotors with SSBC force 10 dual piston aluminum calipers. Running powerstop ceramic pads. Rear brakes are ford 8.8 stock 11.5" rotors with semi-metalic pads and stock new iron single piston calipers. brake lines are custom (stock proportioning valve is gone) run Tee for front brakes and a SSBC adjustable proportioning valve for the rears.
I was looking at HAWKS who has a sale 899$ for BAER 12-13" slotted/drilled rotors and dual piston calipers and all the swap stuff needed. But Also looking at ED's kits for the C5/C4, or wildwood etc for the swap. I also have 17" SLP rims on the front so I would love to stick the biggest brakes I could under them.
What do you guys recomend?

new rotors and pads, but you can get used c5/c6 calipers and abutments off ebay for under 200 bux sometimes. then its just modified hubs and spindles. my setup cost about 500ish bux?

Something like the C5/C4HD/1LE/LS1 brakes would be fine for street/strip. Something like the Wilwoods would only really be necessary if you are planning on doing track days.
