10bolt disc to 9bolt 1LE discs

Hello. I am swapping out my 10 bolt with the 10.5" discs to a 9bolt with the 11.6" 1LE brakes. I do not have E brake cables for the the 9bolt 1LE rear. Can I use the cables from the old setup? Anything else I should know?

Thanks

You'll need new cables. The braking systems between 9- and 10-bolts are identical, so the brake info in the following will be helpful. Note that you'll need the 1LE combination valve, cables, and perhaps speedo gears.

Re: 10bolt disc to 9bolt 1LE discs

Thanks for the reply James.

I will definitly need new speedo gears. Going from 3.27 to 4.11. Are the cables and 1LE combo valve available at napa etc. or dealership rather than from Ed?

Also is my cars braking going to be really messed up if I stick with the original combo valve for now?

Thanks

You should be able to purchase cables from an auto parts supplier. The combination valve may be problematic. It's been discontinued from GM, so Ed may be the only source. Of course, you could always go the after market adjustable route.

The original valve will work, but you won't experience the best from the new brakes.
