Woosh Sounds When Stepping On Brakes?
My car has done this ever since I bought it, but recently the braking effectiveness has progressed to the point where I know something isn't right.
Whenever the brake pedal is depressed when there is vacuum present (Engine running or engine off and vacuum stored in reservoir), a whooshing sound can be heard from under the dash. This whoosh noise comes from the hose that attaches to the cruise control switch. Is this normal?

My brake pedal makes a squishy woosh sound too when depressing the brake pedal. I thought it was normal for GM cars of that era.

it is most likely the brake booster mounted on the firewall 98 bux at autozone.non repairable unit and dont be suprised if the brakes just completely stop working unless you pump the crap out of them to stop. my 86 does that right now sounds like it sucking air or something. Most all the brake boosters are interchangeable I believe the 4th Gen is too w/3rdGen
