drum to disc swap

drum to disc swap

i have a drum brake rear end car(85) and bought a disc brake rear end for gta(87). my question is do i need to get a porportioning valve or can i just bolt it in?

If you read the Stickies at the top of this Brake forum &/or use the Search feature here on TGO (the little text window at the top) you find the answers that you seek have already been posted many times.

It would take anyone longer to type it out for you here that it would take for you to read it where it has already been posted.

Some have had no problem without swapping prop valve but most prefer to swap it or use an adjustable valve. A search will give details on both. If you swap make sure to get the right one for your car as there was three different disc/disc prop valves due to line and thread sizes.

I say go to an adj valve. I did and the brake feel is now really good!
