And then it only ships it to the local UPS hub for pick-up. What exactly is this part?

It is a 90-92 1LE proportioning valve. Getting a hold of those people is like pulling teeth too. I just said screw it and ordered a pack of those springs from Grainger.

 

Is there a way of determining which spring is correct for a particular application or is it a guess based on what others have done?

To be honest, I just took a chance based off of what other members were saying in the cheap proportioning valve thread. It cost me $15 total with shipping. If it dont work out for me then Im only out $15. If it does work then I just saved myself about $100 by not having to buy a whole new valve assembly.

I have been out of this hobby for a few years now and a lot of new stuff has come up here. My next mod is the C5 brake upgrade along with all new hard lines so you will be seeing me in this section quite a bit.

 

gmpartsdirect just got back to me and told me that those parts are no longer available for sale and that the website hasnt been updated yet. Just an FYI.
