Noob Brake Q - Front pad part no's

Hi Guys,

I've looked around on the forums but no-one seems to mention part numbers, and you guys are lucky enough to just walk into an auto shop and ask for firebird parts.

I'm in Australia and the 17 year olds working in the auto parts when you ask for brake pads from a car that isnt a Holden Commodore or Ford Falcon look at you with a blank distant WTF look.

I'm looking for front disc brake pads for a 1985 Pontiac Firebird Trans-AM, and the guys here need a few part numbers in order to find me a set over here.
I know they use Bendix here, but just a few should help me find them

The only catch is they have to be the manufacturers part number, not the summit racing, jeggs etc part numbers.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as at current i have bearing grease leaking on my rear drums and front brakes are making a slight grinding noise when i apply the brakes, so need to change them out quick.

Cheers

You should find what you need from the following site:

Also know 1LE and standard brakes are different. 1LE are for the 2 piston calipers and standard are for the 1 piston.

I frequently have to fight with the guys at the auto parts store as they try to "school" me saying a WS6 has performance brakes. Last time I gave up after 5 minutes+ and let them order all the special performance parts. Guess what they all came in as 1LE parts and I couldn't use any of them. I made them pull all the standard parts, then they proceeded to try to get me to use the 1LE brake pads on standard calipers.

If you do rotors might as well get inner bearings, outer bearings, grease seal, and high temp disc brake grease. It probably wouldn't make any sense putting old bearings back into brand new races installed in the new rotor. It was right around $13 USD per side or so for me to do them on my last swap.

I believe the pad type is D154 for stock front or rear iron calipers, so get that in the brand of your choice. I think they may have the Bendix ones at Supercrap.

I bought Hawks HPS ferro-carbons for all corners from Summit. Hawks pn HB119F.594

Or get semi-metallic from Dave:
