GM ZL1 14.6" Brakes Part numbers

GM ZL1 14.6" Brakes Part numbers
It looks like GM just released the part numbers of the ZL1 brakes and 1LE parts for 2010 Camaro's. I guess you just need to modify the spindles and find the right abutment bracket to make this work on a third gen.

Re: GM ZL1 14.6" Brakes Part numbers
I am surprised they are kitting the brake components into a single part number. Each component has been available for ordering for quite some time now.
The shape of the mounting lugs makes it quite challenging to mount these calipers on a modified stock spindle and still retain a strong bracket design. The mounting lugs are quite long on these calipers. It can be done with some unconventional modifications.
Are you planning on using this setup on your thirdgen?

Not really as I would have to spend more money on bigger rims. I'd look at your brake kit or unfortunately sticking with upgraded parts for the stock kit (which I did.) or possibly an LS1 with C5 caliper kit but I think flynbye makes a ZL1 kit. I'm pretty sure the Baer kit is based on this part number. 14.6" is the biggest that will fit on that wheel you are testing. If you can make the brackets and modify the spindles I would just consider buying it off on you but I would still have to buy bigger rims and I hate the premium I pay in Canada to import stuff. So I don't know. If you figure it out and can supply without the backlog of flynbye it might be ok.
I'm not knocking flynbye as he's one of the few that provides lots of options and Scott at bigbrakes.com is faster but had less options, but sometimes people want the exotic stuff and don't want to wait.

I am not aware of anyone who is currently offering a ZL1 / CTS-V based kit for a thirdgen. Well I sort of am, but its special order only. But I could be wrong.
The Baer kits are based on either Baer calipers or PBR calipers depending on which kit. The ZL1 / CTS-V uses a Brembo caliper.

Those are the gen I '04-07 CTS-V brakes which are the same calipers as the '10+ Camaro SS. They are quite different than the gen II CTS-V / ZL1. I think you will find the component costs of the gen II CTS-V / ZL1 to be over double the cost of the gen I stuff.

Thanks for the clarification. Man I sure learn a lot from you! gmpartsdirect.com doesn't have that kit in yet. I'm curious what GM is going to charge. That old saying of speed cost money, how fast do you want to go just got inverted to stopping power cost money. How fast do you want to stop.

Here's Lukestaff's bracket for the 2010 camaro. I'm wondering if that kit includes a new bracket for the 14.6" rotors instead of the 14" rotors. That would have pushed the calipers out a bit.

That bracket is a no-go for various reasons. The gen II CTS-V / ZL1 calipers have differential lugs length as well as a much more restrictive mounting lug geometry.
The kit does not come with an adapter bracket. ZL1 must have a different spindle to account for the change.
