Hummer H3 Calipers

I saw it mentioned on LS1Tech that H3's use 4 piston fixed calipers and they can be had quite cheap (~$150/pair). Does anyone have any info on these? I did a quick search and didn't see anything come up. I wonder if these could be a possible swap?

Interesting. Any more info, piston size? Rotor thickness? Rotor diameter stock?

Re: Hummer H3 Calipers

Rotor thickness: 28mm / 1.10"

Rotor diameter: 315mm

Rotor height: 70.2mm

Caliper bore: (accurate?) 45.5mm

port: (not sure what this is) 10x1.5mm

pad: (not sure what this is) 10x.11190

pad size: 134mm x 73.5mm x 16.9mm

caliper mounting bolts are 5" center to center

I haven't been able to find any real solid info on the calipers yet.

That all looks fair enough. I really don't see any advantage though compared to other options. What are you are thinking about with these?

Calipers seem roughly the same price as CTS-V / Camaro SS.

It looks like they may be easier to mount.

Re: Hummer H3 Calipers

I've seen the calipers as low at $62 each. I'm a tech for a GM/Subaru dealership so I can get parts for a pretty good discount too. They sparked my interest simply because they could be another option, they're possibly cheaper, and easier to mount.

Well I would be happy to play with one if you wanted to send one to me. Heck if you could get one to me for $62, I might even buy one.

See here for credentials.

Re: Hummer H3 Calipers

I just found that the piston outside diameter is 2.75" which is approximately 70 mm each.

That can't be right. That would be way to large.

Re: Hummer H3 Calipers

Is the caliper aluminum or cast iron? Hard to tell in the pix I saw.

It sure looks cast iron in some of the pictures, but apparently it is aluminum.
