Camaro SS / CTS-V rear brakes for 9-bolt here
Hi,
I have been working on this fitment and figured I would share some progress.
This design incorporates the OEM Camaro / CTS e-brake. The design would be far simpler without the e-brake.
Here is the design. It is a two piece bracket. This was done for cost reasons. I have a set of one piece brackets for my Dana but most here would find that solution too expensive. The inner bracket mounts the calipers and the outer bracket mounts the e-brake stuff. The outer bracket would not be required if you are not running an e-brake.
The downside of the two piece design is that it requires nuts on the back side to hold the assembly together. And due to the size of the 9-bolt flange, there is some interference between the nut and flange, even when using jet nuts. Minor modification of the flange is required to clear the nuts.
Additionally, modification of the e-brake cable bracket would be required since its mounting holes are so close to the 9-bolt flange. No big deal here.
I am also considering revising the design to put the e-brake cable bracket on the top and/or bottom of the flange. This would increase clearance and probably making e-brake cable routing easier.
Some mock up pictures.
More progress to come.

More progress pictures. Fit is nice so far. This concept piece is pretty rough, but it works for fitment.

This all stemmed from the 1 piece bracket I made for my D44. This one is modified for the 9 bolt and is two piece to reduce cost.
My original plan was to use a spot caliper as well, but the reviews on them in general are not good at all.

This picture also shows the modifications that need to be done. The round central hole needs to be opened up to the size of the retainer plate. And two new holes need to be drilled. Not really a big deal. Yes this uses the OEM bearing retainer plate. It can be seen installed in the above pictures.

Looking good! Are the design photos what u would take to the machinist? What are your thoughts on re routing the ebrake cable? That looks so awesome all put together!!! Baller Status

Regarding the e-brake cables. Right now the design is very similar to what I am using on my Dana 44. This makes the e-brake pull vertical and either in front or behind the axle tube. After thinking about this further, I think it much be easier to relocate the components so the pull is horizontal either on top or below the axle tube. I just need to find some time to play with the drawings.

Sweet! Whats the thickness going to be on these two pieces? It shouldn't affect backspacing of the wheels at all should it? The mock up looks good.

Re: Camaro SS / CTS-V rear brakes for 9-bolt here
It can't, the axles are held in by a seperate retainer, hence the thickness of the large piece (same thickness as oem bracket)
What size are the rear rotors? 1.1 thick? diameter? I have some 2pc 14x1.1 rear rotors off a C5 setup that if at all possible I'd like to keep. Has C5 parking brake setup, which looks identical to the above

These are the OEM 365mm x 28mm rotors.
The Cadillac e-brake setup is unfortunately not the same as the Vette.

If I recall from my research, the Vette drum is a different diameter than the CTS-V. Some parts may be interchangeable for it to work, but I have not tried it.

CTS-Vs are bigger than the C5 and C6ZO6 e brake. EBMiller was supposed to work on a setup, but never got around to it.

Hi,
Those look really nice. I've been looking into brake swaps and none really mention the e-brake. They are nuts for safety in Canada. LOL.
How did this project end up? Do you sell these mounts now or would I need to get them machined?
