Brake Light

Wats happenin fellas..I'm having a problem. With the brake light not turning off.. Ive bled the brakes like crazy/// ive applied mad pressure to the brakes it still wont turn off..(most likely. I dont believe its the e brake. Because when i took the electrical connector thats on the master cylinder off. The brake light turned off.... Plus the brake fluid is above the minimum. So am still confused at whats the problem. Mean while the brakes. Stop fine..

Ps.. One thing i have noticed is that. The caliper i changed in the back left. When i bleed that.. At some point i literally get no fluid coming out.

But thanks yall. Just let me know if you guys got any answers to this

Re: Brake Light

And this...

As far as that caliper you're having trouble bleeding, how long has the fluid been in it unchanged, and how does the fluid look (or how did it look before you bled the brakes)? You could have some debris causing blockage in the line that isn't allowing the pressure to be transmitted to the caliper piston, and thus you don't get any fluid out when bleeding it. I don't have much experience with the brake warning lights on these F-body cars, but I think the issue is related to the D/P switch on the proportioning valve, which is where I would start. Change that out and see if you still have the same problem. Your system could need to be flushed, so I would do that too while I'm at it. Good luck and let me know what you find.

Re: Brake Light

Hopefully that's all it is. It's probably cheaper to just buy some brake fluid and flush the system than to buy some parts that may not fix the issue, though it will take some time and usually 2 people.

That's great news! At least you didn't have to buy a bunch of stuff that didn't work. I'm glad to help.

that means the switch in the master cylinder for the float is bad. Leave it off, or replace the master cylinder/reservoir.
