Hydroboost install thread 1987 firebird
Hello all this is my thread for my hydroboost install I'm a hydraulics technician so this **** is fun.
Parts list:
Ls1 master I have lt1 but I cant any find adapters so ill use it as a core for an ls1 one

Astro van hydroboost flat bracket: x1 20$ all day a pick and pull
Astro remote reservoir
ptional
power steering cooler:x1 5$ pick and pull 3/8 barbs in/out
16mm oring to -6 jic (russels):x3 10$/ea
18mm oring to -6 jic(russels):x2 8$/ea
90deg -6 jicf push lock barb:x1 local Parker dealer
90 deg -6 jicf to 3/8 hose crimp:x4 15$ princess auto
8 ft sae100r2at hose: approx 8ft 2$/ft princess auto
3/8 fuel line for return 8 ft 1.39/ft pa
3/8 Donaldson filter head 8$ pa
2x 3/8x3/8 barbs 3$ pa
Donaldson filter 10 mic 8$ pa
3/8-24 coupler nut 5$
3/8-24 jam nuts: 25 cents each
Hydroboost return fitting -2 oring boss
How to rod coupling:
1. Cut bracket off booster
2. Cut rod for brake pedal thread 3/8-24
3. Cut rod hydroboost file/ sand from 7/16 down to .34in
4. Thread hydrobooster rod hold with vice grips (don't **** it up too bad)
5. Couple it fbody rod to booster rod (jam nut-coupler-jam nut that order).
6.red loctite don't want it to come apart or death.
How to reservoir:
1. Braise 2nd 3/8 return into reservoir.
2. Or use astro remote can ( I'm going to braise 3/4 barb to top of fbody can and feed it from remote reservoir more fluid always good.) if u go this route the fbody can has to be competely sealed and full of fluid or you'll pull air
How to lines:
1. 16mm to -6 in pump
2. 16mm and 18mm and -2 oring barb In hydroboost
3. 16mm and 18mm and -6 jic push lock on gear
4. Pressure hoses go from pump to boost and from boost to gear they are the 16mm fittings.
5. 18mm and -2 oring are returns 3/8 fuel line please.
6. Return from booster goes to fbody 3/8 in bottom of can little flow
7. Return from gear thru cooler then thru filter back to astro res. up top alot more flow than booster don't use filter or cooler on booster return its metered don't **** with it.
Ill throw up pics when I'm car and of the stuff I had done on bench.

I used a 95 impala ss hard power steering line and bent it to fit my hb. Fit perfectly.
