Wilwod prop valve install

Anybody here change their factory Disc proportioning Valve to a adjustable one?I was reading the tech article on removing the factory prop valve and putting in a Wilwod one for the back brakes.Does this setup work like the tech article States?

I've done it and it's great. I think the best way to do it is to T off the rear brake line before the stock prop valve, plug the stock rear output and run the T to the adjustable valve and then to the rear brake line. This way preserves the brake failure warning light.

Thanks Base.I would like to delete the stock prop valve.Even though keeping the brake warning light would be good.

Re: Wilwod prop valve install

If you're going to install an adjustable valve for the rear brakes you don't need to touch the prop valve. The prop valve only affects the rear brakes anyway so by installing a separate adjustable valve you are by-passing the stock valve. You plug the rear brake distribution block output and if you've T-ed off the input you still have the pressure to stop the brake fail warning light coming on. Or you can remove the brake buldb from the cluster!
