Affordable Brembo calipers
I'm in the middle of another car for someone else, and while researching the brake upgrades for that, I happened on a likely probability for anyone willing and able to fabricate their own adapter brackets to mount the Brembo calipers.
Then I went EBay hunting, and found several listings for '00-'02 Mercedes-Benz S430 / S500 used for in the $ 100 / pr price range. These are the fronts. I checked out the pad options and costs, then ordered the calipers, which arrived yesterday.
These are for rotors 1.26" thick, and the M-B rotors are roughly 13".
So I spent 3+ hours on Napa's website finding rotors. Unfortunately I don't have the results on hand right now. For myself I'm looking to start with 14.17" rotors, but there was a likely choice at 13.14"

Re: Affordable Brembo calipers
interesting idea i know those are only 2 pot calipers i would be interested in the benefits if any over the more common 4th gen or c5 vette options.

Re: Affordable Brembo calipers
These are 4-piston. And the lowest-cost way to have 4-piston Brembo front calipers for healthy-size rotors. These have no visible logo, on the side people will see. They come painted black, but the Brembo is cast into the other side. Inboard.
For rotors I searched by specs, so no clue what the year / make / model are, but the most likely rotors for slipping over machined 1LE hubs would be Napa's NB 4886681, these are 13.14" x 1.26", with the correct lug pattern. They're around $ 70 each.
But in my case, I'll be re-drilling their UP880690, 14.17" x 1.26", but the wrong bolt circle. I'm going with 19" wheels. But I plan to test-fit an 18, since I just managed tro get these on 11.75" rotors inside cast 15" wheels. The 13.14" should fit inside some 17s.
I don't like how most cheap brake upgrades use shallow rotors that move the calipers out. Those rotors don't have enough height. But these do. And both of these have large-enough center bores.

Also, the height of these is 3.04" and 2.28", respectively. The 14s are slotted. And the bores are 3.12" and 2.86", the 14s are about $5 more than the 13s, not including the cost of a drill bit.

Re: Affordable Brembo calipers
My Camaro is on hold, so it'll be a very long time. But I'll have this other car together next week, brakes-wise, except for fabbing the adapter brackets to mount the calipers. I may post a couple pics of that in this thread.
