Front Rotor Inner Bearing

Does new rotors come with inner bearing/race. If not, how do install a new race/inner bearing to a new rotor.

Re: Front Rotor Inner Bearing

The front rotors generally come with an inner race installed but no bearing. Double check with whatever brand you get to make sure though. As far as bearings go, Timken is a pretty reliable brand and can be found at most AutoZones, although they stock them under the same number as the Duralast ones so make sure to ask for Timken specifically.

Re: Front Rotor Inner Bearing

someone972: thanks.

Buy for each side:
1. Rotor (assuming comes with inner and outer race installed)
2. Inner bearing
3. Inner bearing seal
4. Outer bearing

Installation process inner bearing:
1. Grease up bearing and install it
2. Put inner bearing seal

In auto zone, they sale inner bearing and race together. I just do not use the race since it should be already in the rotor.

Am I missing something

Re: Front Rotor Inner Bearing

You will also need some new cotter pins to replace the ones you'll have to pull out. I forget what size they are but you can pull one off the car before heading the the auto parts place to compare. When grease packing try and get all the air out from the bearing. Probably the most difficult part (apart from anything that's seized up) is tightening the nut down to the right tension. I followed this tech article when I was doing mine and so far they've held up great; https://www.thirdgen.org/brakes/.
