Can I leave dust cover off MC to bleed brakes (89 350 Firebird)

Hello.

Question as above really, when bleeding brakes can i leave cover off the master cylinder to make it easier to top up fluid.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, just want to clarify.

Thanks.

No. You'll have a fountain and brake fluid everywhere. At least that's what happened to me as I tried it

Except if you're gravity bleeding and don't pump the pedal. Then it should be ok.
