Will these brake hoses fit?
Will these brake hoses fit?
I'm looking for high quality braided steel brake hoses. As I've read here the Russel ones made problems for some of you, I was looking for the Goodridge ones.
I've found these: http://www.rickscamaros.com/camaro-b...1984-1992.html
I have an '88 TBI Camaro, just a normal one, not an IROC or Z28, at least I don't think so. So I'm not sure whether these hoses will fit. Does anyone have experience?
Thanks,
Thomas
PS: Is it true that I'll have to lift the engine in order to replace the front brake pipes?

If your car has front discs and rear drums, you're good to go

You may need to lift the engine to replace the hardliners, not the flex lines.
Those flex lines listed will work for you so long as u have rear drums.

Okay, thank you, I do have front discs and rear drums. I just was unsure because the "standard" model wasn't listed for '88 Camaros in the compatibility list.
And using these steel hoses instead of rubber ones... there's nothing to be aware of when installing them? The ends which connect to the calipers look quite different to the rubber ones...
Hm, I'd like to replace also the hardlines... so lifting the engine, is that something I can do in my parking lot with a normal jack? Will I need to dismount anything to be able to lift it?
Thanks,
Thomas

You cant properly lift the engine with a normal jack. You need a hoist or ithe kind of support from the top.
I was able to get the hardlines off my v6 car without raising the engine, but I've never tried on a v 8 car.
