C5 Manual Brake question

Hey folks I bought a few years ago a roller project with manual C5/Z06 brake setup up front and the LS1's on the back. I finally got the car somewhat road worthy, and had it out for a few test drives with the manual brakes. I'm not sure how I feel about the amount of force I have to use to get it to stop decently. Honestly since I did not put the setup in, and can't identify the parts (manufactor and or part numbers) of the MC & prop valve.

With that being said what would be the proper MC & prop valve to use with these brakes? I know it's a bit open ended but looking for some good pointers, I've found some different posts through the search for stock manual brakes, but not sure since the C5 setup is a bit different what I should use if I were to do this from scratch.

Also considering the possibility of going back to power brakes. What would be a good booster/MC/Prop Valve if I were to go this route?

Hopefully some of you brake experts can point me in the right direction if nothing else!

Re: C5 Manual Brake question

do a google search for brake piston to caliper ratios and stuff like that.

a simple thing to check: did they hook the pushrod from the master cylinder to the pedal up to the stock power brake location, or did they drill a hole higher up to give you more leverage? putting it at the stock power brake location will cause you to have to push the pedal harder to get any sort of stopping power out of it, but putting it up closer to the pivot will make it easier but make you have to push the pedal farther..

Re: C5 Manual Brake question

I can't check the pedal location (stock vs changing the lever angle) for a few more weeks until I get home. I'll take a peak at the rest and do some searching around some more.

Thanks for the reply
