What break hose is this?

Noticed some cracking in my front hoses and decided to replace. I have a 92 Formula L98, and this is what Autozone gave me. See the head where it connects to the caliper? It's square on this hose, and doesn't seem to want to fit into the recess on the caliper. My stock hoses have hex shaped head that fits in there perfectly. They asked me if it was performance brakes and I said yes because it's a Formula, but I didn't know for sure. Is this why it won't fit? I'd think a Formula would have performance brakes? Could be someone swapped the calipers out for cheapos sometime. Not sure, but I've never been impressed with the brakes on this car, could be they aren't the right brakes for it. The right and left side hoses Autozone gave me also have different numbers as if different parts, but look exactly the same to me. Same length and everything--only one came with brass gaskets and one didn't.

Re: What break hose is this?

Ok thx. So then do you think the performance package involved different calipers or what? What's the difference? Im not in love with the brakes on this car as it is now. Can't afford to upgrade, but the info might be a help later.

The performance brakes were the 1LE, and you don't have them on the Formula, Do ya?

Oh, I clearly have no idea. Im assuming this a rhetorical question? LOL...... But my question is, what does it entail? Bigger rotors? Bigger calipers? What?

Re: What break hose is this?

you don't

1LE was a performance brake package..... in short...bigger rotors, dual piston calipers, Spindles, and not the old junk that's on it now.

Here's the long and short of the 1LE upgrade should you ever decide on that route:

Dude, you need to chill. Nobody asked you to come here and post smack and call my stuff junk just because it's not in your garage. I've only owned my car for about a year and a half, and beyond the fact that I've always loved thirdgen Firebirds, I knew almost nothing about it when I got it because til now I couldn't afford to dig into the mechanical side of them. Nobody said I didn't have a lot to learn, but that's why I'm on here. So basically you're saying that because I asked a question I'm a total idiot? Ok. Did it ever occur to you that maybe other people don't know as much but want to learn? That being the case, wouldn't it make more sense to just answer the question honestly instead of doing what you just did? I mean, that's the way most posters on here handle it, I'm just saying...
